چکیده

• Zeolite type A was synthesized from natural resources under mild conditions. Textural properties and crystallinity can be controlled through synthesis Microporosity plays a key role on CO 2 /N /H O selectivies. Under dry conditions, is readily desorbed at moderate temperatures. The presence of water hinders the desorption physisorbed species. In light urgent need reducing atmospheric emissions, use low-cost adsorbents, that exhibit high affinity adsorption capacity, promising method economic environmental point view to separate flue gas emitted large sources emissions like power-fueled plants. Clay minerals are raw materials with availability all over planet great versatility in fields catalysis processes. present study pretends elucidate link between reaction conditions during zeolite kaolinite its capacity. For purpose, via hydrothermal process alkaline solution using metakaolinite as starting material. obtained by calcination 600 °C some parameters such temperature time were modified optimize aiming for capacity adsorbent. Synthesized characterized X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), N adsorption–desorption ?196 0 (up 10 bars) isotherms Nuclear Magnetic Resonance solids (NMR). addition, evaluated means 25 up pressure. results indicated 4A successfully prepared (via metakaolinization) 100 48 h showing chemical physical similar commercial zeolite.

Cost-effective CO2 capture based on in silico screening of zeolites and process optimization.

A hierarchical computational approach is introduced that combines materials screening with process optimization. This approach leads to novel materials for cost-effective CO2 capture. Zeolites are screened using shape, size, and adsorption selectivities. Next, process optimization is introduced to generate a rank-ordered list based on total cost of capture and compression. We not only select th...

Phase diagrams of CO2 and CO2 -N2 gas mixtures and their application in compression processes

Phase diagrams of carbon dioxide, nitrogen and their mixtures with different amounts of nitrogen (e.g. 5 mol%, 10 mol% N2) were calculated with high accuracy with the NIST Reference Fluid Thermodynamic and Transport Properties database program REFPROP® for up to 200 bar, as well as density-pressure diagrams. Beside the use of carbon dioxide as a solvent for supercritical fluid extraction, incre...

Toward Understanding Amines and Their Degradation Products from Postcombustion CO2 Capture Processes with Aerosol Mass Spectrometry

Amine-based postcombustion CO2 capture (PCCC) is a promising technique for reducing CO2 emissions from fossil fuel burning plants. A concern of the technique, however, is the emission of amines and their degradation byproducts. To assess the environmental risk of this technique, standardized stack sampling and analytical methods are needed. Here we report on the development of an integrated app...

Techno-economic modelling and cost functions of CO2 capture processes

The paper contributes to techno-economic modelling of CO2 capture process in coalfired power plants. Technological options of CO2 capture have been chosen and cost estimation relationships (CERs) for the chosen options provided. The CERs are being fitted into a developed overall model of carbon capture and sequestration. Functions relating capital costs, operation and maintenance costs and tota...
